    Welcome!

In March 2026, we are once again collaborating with the Art+Feminism community as an online node supporting a focus on gender, feminism, and the arts. A list of Art+Feminism evolving events for 2026 can be found here.

In addition to writing biographies, contributors may include articles on related literature and organizations.

New in 2026, we have created a separate event for Works by Women: Artworks. You are, therefore, encouraged to write articles about any form of art by women and add them to that page.

Anyone can take part in this event. We hope both inexperienced and seasoned editors will join us in creating biographies and other articles about women, as well as their achievements, writings, organizations and awards. This virtual edit-a-thon allows enthusiasts wherever they may be to participate in our initiative. Contributors are of course also welcome to add articles on any other notable women who deserve to be covered, for example under our #1day1woman priority.

The main goals of the event are:

    • to encourage inexperienced editors and show them how they can contribute to Wikipedia by creating biographies of some of the world's most prominent women
    • to draw the attention of more experienced editors to the need for concerted action on a specific area
    • to support Wikipedia in combating the systemic bias against the coverage of women and women's works
    • to promote the new/improved articles and images through social media (Pinterest, Instagram, Bluesky)

    What else?

    • Below, you'll see a section where you can list the articles you created this month and another section where you can add the images you have uploaded to Commons.
    • If you share any of the articles or images on social media, please indicate you have done so next to the article name.
    Thank you!

Redlists (lists of redlinked articles to be created)

A wide variety of redlink lists can be found on our Redlist index. Some of those relating to art and activism are listed below:

Help me turn all the red links and other-wiki links to blue ones at Les femmes artistes d'Europe. Please let me know if you are working on one to avoid possible duplication. Thanks. Roundtheworld (talk) 09:50, 26 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
